Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Great Smoky Mountains National Park was established in 1940, ridge upon ridge of forest straddles the border of North Carolina and Tennessee.  World-renowned for its diversity of plant and animal life, ancient mountains, and the quality of its remnants of Southern Appalachian mountain culture.  The park is home to numerous hiking trails including the iconic Appalachian Trail that travels from Georgia to Maine.  To learn more about this park and the National Park Foundation please visit
