The Arizona National Scenic Trail traverses the entire length of the state to connect deserts, mountains, forests, canyons, wilderness, communities, and people. This 800-mile path provides unparalleled opportunities for hikers, trail runners, mountain bikers, equestrians, cross-country skiers and other trail users to experience Arizona’s incredible biodiversity – from low desert to boreal forest. The AZT is cared for by hundreds of trail stewards and thousands of volunteers each year, organized through the Arizona Trail Association. To learn more, visit
