The John Muir Trail or JMT is the crown jewel of America’s hiking trails, stretching 211 miles from Happy Isles in Yosemite National Park in the north to its southern terminus atop Mt Whitney 14,505′, the highest peak in the lower 48. This trail takes the traveler through the high country of the Sierra Nevada Mountains crossing through Yosemite, Kings Canyon, and Sequoia National Parks.
